The Current Approved Code of Practice for Rider Operated Fork Lift Trucks requires that employers must ensure that all persons operating a fork lift truck on their premises are adequately trained. Training Link has designed courses both for novices and experienced operators.
The duration of Fork Lift Driver Training programmes depends on the individual operator but as a guide the following gives an idea of the time required to train up to 3 candidates (which is the maximum ratio per instructor), as recommended by the Approved Code of Practice.
Novice
Duration:
2/3 days depending on capabilities and experience – for up to 3 candidates.
Counter Balance and Reach training can be carried out together in 3 days
Suitability:
This is designed for persons who have little or no fork lift truck operating experience to give them the maximum amount of practice as well as good operator techniques which will give them the confidence to work a fork lift truck safely.
Refresher Training
Duration:
1 day
Suitability:
This course is designed to keep all operators up to a safe standard of fork lift truck operation. It is strongly recommended that refresher training be carried out every three years.
All training is conducted in house or at our training centre if required. Please contact us for further details and to book your fork lift training course!
