Conducted by an Approved CAA Instructor, Training to the current IATA Regulations.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority requires that those involved in the shipment, packing, and acceptance of consignments of Dangerous Goods by Air transport to be successfully trained at an approved course. Training Link are approved to conduct initial and refresher training, the course is approved to meet the legal requirements.
Those personnel who have already received the 3 day Initial Dangerous Goods by Air (IATA Regulations) training must attend a Dangerous Goods by Air Revalidation training course within 24 months of the last certification, a test which entitles successful candidates to a certificate of competence valid for two years.
However, there is now provision for a 3-month “window” that allows for recurrent training conducted within the final 3 months of the 24-month period to be considered to have been completed on the expiry date of the 24-month period.
The course will enable candidates to:

Apply the information given in the IATA and ICAO regulations to dangerous goods shipments

Check that packaging, marking and labelling meet IATA/ICAO standards

Interpret dangerous goods lists

Recognise prohibited items

Understand packing instructions

Recognise marking and labelling

Understand the shipper’s and carrier’s responsibilities
